New York City theater director Melissa Ingle’s work explores family, sexuality, and technology and through the deconstruction of text and time. She creates work for those who are fed up with the demands of an online world but still irrevocably entangled in pop culture. Focusing on characters on the verge of growing up, falling into a necessary auto pilot in order to participate in a world saturated with screens. The worlds she creates inevitably explode into absurd gruesome messes that are difficult to watch, but even harder to look away from.
